Borg Moller Shipping wants to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the disruption in the international shipping sector especially within the coaster market - currently and in the future.

With an urgent need for coasters in the Baltic Sea area, Borg Moller & Partners wants to establish a coaster shipping company, which will acquire up to 5 second-hand vessels over a 3 to 6-months period. 

Short-term goal (within a period of 5 years) is to acquire 25 coasters (DWT 2,000-4,500) as a combination of second-hand vessels and newbuildings. Initially the Company plans to acquire second-hand vessels in order to commence trading and later on take delivery of newbuildings.

If newbuildings were ordered at present time the expected delivery time will be in approximately 18-24 months. The Company will initiate contact to suitable shipyards in the region in order to create a newbuilding program that will comply with the standards to operate in a sustainable way for both the crew and the environment - focus will be on engaging in new technologies regarding propulsion. 

Anticipated ratio between second-hand vessels and newbuildings is 1 to 2 newbuilding per 5 vessels in the fleet.
